Steve Zall – Principal Funding Representative
Steve started at the Hollywood Reporter in the advertising department selling display advertising for motion picture ad campaigns and special issues in the industry of films and the state incentive plans. He was quickly promoted to Director of Public Relations, coordinating all advertising for the Academy Awards campaign. He helped to create the organization Women in Film which was instrumental in creating the Palm Springs film Festival. He was the press chairman of the Hollywood Women’s Press Club Golden Apple Awards for nine years.
Steve then moved on to a position with Animation Film Makers Corporation as Marketing Director with responsibility for designing and creating campaigns for the television industry, working on such TV shows as the 3 Stooges animated series, Flipper, and Clutch Cargo.
After that he took a position at Media Locations and Permits as an Advertising and Marketing Director, arranging location company permits that catered to location managers and film production managers, and organized the media directory of locations for shooting films in houses, ranches, and on the streets, including the Bel Air mansion where the series Dynasty was shot.
He continued his career at LA Weekly newspaper as an Advertising Sales Representative, where he organized and launched their display advertising department for motion picture companies, creating accounts with major print media advertising executives, and film studios such as Paramount Pictures, 20th Century Fox and other major studios. Steve still works as a syndicated columnist. Steve is an active member of the LA Press Club.
Steve created films2Fund to help independent producers to find funding for their projects. He saw the need for support services and started the Independent Filmmakers Resource Group (IFRG) to help producers complete the missing documentation required to submit projects to the funders. He is delighted to bring his expertise in advertising, publishing, movies and television to assist in this exciting new adventure.
